Audition - Ghost Light Tour Guide

Before:

It’s time!! Auditions for the ghost light tour are upon us, and I am very excited to go for the tour guide! 

This would be my very first time performing in front of anyone, even though the act isn’t on stage in front of an audience, im excited to try a challenge right off the bat! Hopefully if I get the part I can show that even though I don’t have a prior history of acting, I can still stand in with the rest of my wonderful team!

I’m spending my time going over lines for the first time ever and coming up with a character in my mind, im so excited for the audition and to show Kelly what I’m made of, however I’m still quite nervous! 

After:

I just finished the audition, my nerves were an all time high and I stuttered a bit during it, however, I think it went okay! I imagined the character from the monologue we had to read was a part of the British globe back in the 1900s and so I decided to give him the voice and mannerisms of such a person!

Kelly seemed to like that I thought of the character before actually playing as him, I absolutely love coming up with mannerisms and voices of characters out of thin air so it was an enjoyable audition, even if I don’t get the part!

I’m extremely excited to perform, I have never felt this way before it’s a mixture of nerves and euphoria and I can’t wait to experience this feeling as the tour guide if I get the part, I can’t wait to experience this as any part in the performance! Fingers crossed! 

I GOT THE PART!! A few descisions had changed and it’s now there are going to be two tour guides, but it’s going to be me and my brother! My nerves have completely gone knowing I’m going to be performing with him! In the script the tour guides are brothers and I think since we radiate squabbling sibling energy it’s going to be so much better for the performance!

A lot of the part will be improv, something I’m not too worried about, however it’s going to be so fun to improvise with my brother, im already thinking of things I can say to him now, most will be insults of course! But I cannot wait for show day, now comes the part where we go through lines for days and work out our routine, bring it on globe!!
