The Ghost Light Tour
30/31st October 2022
30th October
I don’t know where to start, I had a blast. The ghost light tour is something I will never forget being a part of, no matter how long ago it becomes. Me and Morgans co-acting as the Lewis brothers was extremely fun, although there was a few bumps along the way, during our time as the characters themselves we brought everything we could to them.
Finally getting the chance to perform was so much better than I could’ve ever imagined it being.
Before we actually had the show we had a chance to go through the entire theatre and plan out where we were taking the audience. Each part of the tour would feature a different event of sorts and I feel the entire thing came together to form one amazing experience, for the audience as well as the amazing actors that took part.
First Run:
Once we had our wits about us and we knew the order of events we started, it was tense waiting to hear the footsteps of the “guests” walking into the bar, as me and Morgan hid in a small bathroom in the side of the bar. Our cue was waiting for the barkeep to talk of “a boy like me with a girl like her” talking of course about ivy close. Once we heard those lines it was our job to come out of the door and greet the audience! We had to improvise our way down a hallway until we met “Miss Chadwick” the theatre manager!
From there we were a trio, and led the guests down to the second bar below the inner circle where an event of shock happened including a girl who had ruptured her stomach when the bettles played there! The audience didn’t know how to properly react and so most of them were silent, but onwards we led them to the stage where they saw our actors put on an incredible show!
Going through the entire act required improvisation and to keep the energy high! I believe me and my brother did that perfectly and we put on an amazing show, although during this run through, we had a very silent audience.
I’ll have to admit I was happy we had a quiet audience at first, that was until we got the second audience, who were incredible!
Second Run:
On our second run I was less nervous than before as we had gone through it once already! However the audience this time, was especially talkative which was so much more fun to interact with! I’ve found because of this performance I’m very good at back and forth, even with those I don’t know! We committed to the path we had to take and not much was different apart from the audience!
Each twist and turn we were able to get a noise or laughter out of them which felt like a victory each time! I was able to spook a few members with my staring into the eyes and close spacing and I cannot describe fully the amazement of being in that scenario.
Out of the two runs I would definitely say the second one was my favourite, although my moustache had not been able to stay on for the second run through, I would definitely say that that’s the only thing I’d change.
The audience being more interactive is definitely what sold the second run to me and being in that position with those who were visibly happy to be there definitely helped with my performance!!
In conclusion I couldn’t ask for a better show and I am left jaw dropped with the potential for what comes next!!
31st October:
For this day me and Morgan took on the roles of wax figurines with creepy masks, not particularly a main role, however I am here to make every role I am given a main role in itself and it was fun having to do something that required less interaction and just being creepy!
We wore masks which helped scare and creep people out! It was fun to dress up and to see the reactions of the people! I tried to incorporate how a mannequin might walk, being a wax figurine, something that’s not supposed to move I added jolting and struggling to move! I think it added to my performance!
