Character Analysis - Royal Historian | TWoO

"I AM OZ!! THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE!! WHY DO YOU SEEK MY BLOG?!"

Becoming the Great and Terrible Oz was an incredible experience and one I wont soon forget, it took me a while to really understand the character that I was portraying. In order to properly get into the characters mindset I researched the old productions of The Wizard of Oz and learned the true meanings of each character and what they represent within the old story.

I spent my time rewatching the old movie that i watched as a kid and got a real feel for how the wizard was and how he presented himself. I took his accent and playful demeanour and made it into my own act! I made sure to use my hands a lot while talking in order to emphasise his wacky side as well as keep myself closed in when speaking of the more serious topics. I really had the best time, each and every show I improved the character in some way, whether it was confidence wise, or adding more and more characteristics.

My main worry was forgetting lines, and there was a few times that i believe i got into my own head. However, after each show i lost that worry more and more and by the end shows i was embodied completely into the wacky and wonderful character. My first time on stage is hard to describe but giving it my best, it was as if the rest of the world disappeared and i cant wait to continue.

And so I shall
"until the very end."
