Audition - The Royal Historian | TWoO

For my audition of the Royal Historian, at first I was terrified! Of course i had auditioned before, however, growing up with The Wizard of Oz story gave me so much more motivation to do the best i could! At first when it was announced that we would be performing TWoO show i thought about auditioning for the cowardly lion, but after some consideration i decided i wanted to test myself!

In my day to day life I am often quite eccentric and though im not saying it would have been easy to play the part, it certainly would've conformed to my usual form of acting, leaving not much room for improvement in my own skills. It was for this reason that i wanted to transition and work on auditioning for the Wizard himself, it was certainly nerve wracking at the start due to the added pressure i had put on myself but i managed to sike myself up enough to put on a good performance! To prepare for the audition, I went to the costume room, found a distinguished blazer that a "Royal Historian" would wear and looked for a big book that I could use as a sort of story book! I then went to a quiet place and repeated my paragraph over and over until I was confident in it, sadly my name was called before I could fully say i was 'confident' but I was still ready!

When the audition started nerves were running high! I even had to come back into the room so i could start properly, but as soon as I started my lines the character i practiced came into the room! I ended up getting the role and I'm so happy!! It truly was an incredible audition as well as a performance and I would change a few things if possible! However, i am certainly not disappointed in my performance and i have no regrets!
